School of Arts & Design
         The College of Arts & Design began its enrollment in 2000 and has more than 2,400 undergraduates and college students now. It offers three undergraduate programs and three diploma programs. The details are as follows.


         The College of Art & Design aims at cultivating students in various fields, laying a solid foundation for students and developing students’ abilities. In this way, the students will possess basic theory and professional skills. In order to promote the students’ ability, knowledge and quality, the school has professional curriculum system which is composed of general education, professional education and personality education.
       Based in Chengdu, the College of Arts & Design tries to serve Sichuan, southwestern China and even the whole country. In view of the development of various arts and design programs and trends of market demands, the College has initiated a training model integrating classrooms, laboratories and studios.
       Education facilities in the College of Arts include Exhibition Halls, Studios, Pottery Laboratories, Model and Mold Laboratories, Comprehensive Training Rooms of Environmental Design, Fiber Arts Laboratories, Laboratories for Image and Video Production and Computer Rooms. The College also provides digital cameras, clay molding machines and furnaces.


 The College has a strong team of teachers of moral integrity and with outstanding professional performance and rich teaching experience, led by professors, associate professors and industrial experts with young teachers as its backbone. There are twenty three professors and associate professors and sixty teachers. Some of them graduated from key universities like Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Sichuan University and some from professional institutions. Over 85.5% of them have a Postgraduate qualification or have an intermediate professional title or above.
  The school aims at cultivating of students' innovative spirit and practical ability. It sets up relevant design work group in various teaching and Research Department to support and encourage students to participate in all kinds of professional competitions. The purpose of the event is to find out and tap the outstanding students, to provide a better platform for their further promotion and to exchange and interaction between the students and society. Over the years, the students of art colleges have participated in various design competitions. In November 2012, our students won two second prize, three third prize and one outstanding award in the first Pixian Animation Original Works Contest. At the same time, the school also awarded the Organizing Award by the contest organizer.
   In March 2013, the students have actively participated in the national contest. They won a outstanding award and three finalists in “the second National College Students Psychological Crisis Intervention in Public Poster Creative Contest”, three good prize and one finalists in the fifteenth "Master Award" to the Chinese Youth Image of Creative Competition and three third prize and six outstanding award in the “The Sixth National Design Art Awards”.
   In March 2013, the students won two third prize, five good prize and fifteen selected certificates in the “Fourth Chinese University Art Exhibition". At the same time, Sichuan Normal University Chengdu College was awarded the great team by the contest organizers.
  The College of Arts produces quite a few students admitted as postgraduates and a group of start-up entrepreneurs. Many graduates work as designers, manufacturers, researchers, teachers, trainers and are welcomed in fields of interior design, environmental and landscape design, landscape design, advertising planning and design, visual communication design, product design and development. With the continuous development of China’s economy and the expansion of design market demand, the graduates enjoy very good job opportunities and the average employment rate of our graduates has remained over 95.2% over the years.
